Re-Scheduled Canadian Sailing Hall of Fame 2020 Inductions

The postponed 2020 Inductions to the Canadian Sailing Hall of Fame will take place on Sunday, October 3rd, 2021 at 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Kingston Yacht Club in Kingston, ON. Full list of 2020 inductees below.

Due to COVID in-person attendance is limited to inductees and their immediate guests (seating is limited to 60 people). The inductions will be available for viewing via the Marine Museum’s YouTube live-stream to those with a purchased ticket using registration page below. In the worse case scenario, if the 4th wave of Covid forces a cancellation of even a reduced Induction ceremony, the entire induction will take place online.

In these initial years, Inductees will be chosen by the Canadian Sailing Hall of Fame Management Committee, with representation from across the country. The selection process is based on criteria established in the CSHOF By-Laws. In future it is intended that the nomination process will be open to the sailing public. As per the By-Laws, any Canadian sailor who wins an Olympic or Paralympic Medal, or a World Championship in an Olympic or Paralympic class is considered an automatic Inductee. Thirteen of our fourteen 2020 Inductees meet that criterion.

The Canadian Sailing Hall of Fame is a collaboration between The Canadian Sailing Hall of Fame, the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes at Kingston, and Sail Canada. Inductees to the Hall of Fame must be Canadian citizens, and can be inducted in any of the three categories of Sailor, Technical, or Contributor.
